非金屬油罐的人孔設在罐頂上，金屬油罐的人孔設在罐壁最下圈板上。大都為直徑600mm的圓孔，其中心距底板750mm，為油罐清洗或維修人員進出油罐用，又稱作道門。檢修清理油罐時刻利用人孔進行采光和通風。立式油罐的容量在5000m3以下時設1~2個人孔，5000m3以上的設2個人孔。人孔的安裝應與進出油管線相隔不大于90°。當只設一個人孔時，應將其置于罐頂透光孔的對面；當設2個人孔時，其中一個設在透光孔的對面，另一個應至少與第一個人孔相隔90°。
